–Next weekend Top Dolomites Trail!
Sunday, June 1, 7:30 a.m: The streets of the town of Pinzolo began to come alive with the first athletes on their bikes, ready to warm up for the 7th edition of the Granfondo Top Dolomites.
After positioning on the grid, awaiting the start at 8:00 a.m., to load the cyclists were present the Councillor for Crafts, Commerce, Tourism, Forestry, Hunting and Fishing of the Autonomous Province of Trento Roberto Failoni, the Councillor for Tourism of the Municipality of Pinzolo Giuseppe Corradini, the President of Apt Madonna di Campiglio Tullio Serafini and Top Dolomites President Giovanni Danieli.
Also present to greet the athletes was Fulmine, the mascot of the 3Tre Madonna di Campiglio event, along with Sprint, Top Dolomites mascot.
More than 1,200 of participants paraded down Pinzolo’s tree-lined avenue, greeted by the warmth of the public, volunteers and institutions present at the start.
Participants in the Granfondo could decide on the spot which of the two available routes to take: the medium route of 71km with a total elevation gain of 1650m or the long route of 108km with an elevation gain of 2600m. Both passed through the most beautiful and picturesque places in Val Rendena descending to Riva del Garda.
In fact, it can be said that the real protagonist of this event is precisely the Top territory: a unique landscape between the valleys of the Brenta Dolomites and the beauty of Trentino’s Lake Garda.
To recharge their energies and enjoy the wonderful views surrounded by nature, participants of the medium route made two stops: the first at the Duron Pass refreshment point, where the fresh mountain air offered a moment of regeneration, and the second in Stenico, a village nestled between the valleys. Cyclists on the long route, on the other hand, stopped at three refreshments: in addition to Passo Duron and Stenico, also in Tenno, where the enchantment of the lake and the view of the surrounding peaks made the break even more memorable.
Meanwhile, in Pinzolo, volunteers and the OC continued to set up the event for the arrival of the cyclists, ready to close this first weekend of Top Dolomites Outdoor Festival on a high note with the preparation of the final refreshments and Pasta Party in the heart of the town. At 10:00 a.m. the first overall riders of the Mediofondo course crossed the finish line and after about an hour the first three athletes of the Granfondo course.
The c.o. created an exclusive location, enhancing not only the territory, but also the exceptional products that our partners offered.
At 2 p.m. the festivities continued with the awarding of the absolute and category podiums.
Once again this year, heartfelt thanks are due to those who make it all possible! First of all, a due thanks goes precisely to the institutions and to our institutional partners, Trentino, Campiglio Dolomiti and Garda Trentino. They continue to believe in the organization of this event and its realization.
Secondly, a heartfelt thank you goes to all the partners of the event who, in addition to supporting us, enlivened and colored the center of Pinzolo for the entire weekend.
Finally, we thank the pillars of this event: the police, the technical escort and all the volunteers who worked behind the scenes ensuring fun and safety of all participants.
It ended this fantastic first weekend was a real success!
